Years later, I’ve fulfilled that promise by traveling through 52 countries in Oceania, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Asia, and right here in Africa. Yet, my heart always returns to South Africa, where I’ve crisscrossed over 90% of its tarred roads—and many more gravel ones—marveling at its beauty and diversity.
